Larry David Ranks His GREATEST New York Sports Moments Of All-Time!

Larry David didn't hesitate. Asked for the greatest New York sports moment ever, he ranked the Knicks championship number one.

"There've been some other great ones," he allowed, "but yeah, that's one for me."

From there he built out the rest of the list, and it leaned heavily on Yankees heartbreak turned triumph. At number two he put Bucky Dent, the 1978 one-game playoff, game 163 against the Red Sox. He didn't want to forget Aaron Boone, either, the home run off knuckleballer Wakefield that sent the Yankees to the series. Both made the cut.

The Rangers earned a spot too, the 1994 run that David summoned with the only words a New Yorker needs: Matteau, Matteau, Matteau. And then there was the Tyree helmet catch, the Giants' improbable Super Bowl moment.

Rich noticed the obvious omission. No Jets anywhere in the top five. David's response was the most Larry David answer possible. "I wonder why."
