Who’s atop Rich’s Week 8 NFL Power Rankings after the 49ers’ & Chiefs’ Losses?

Every week, somebody asks where the Rams are in Rich's power rankings. This week the trolling came from inside the house: in the Rich Eisen Show fantasy basketball league, Rich's son Cooper, who calls him a passionate Rams fan all the time, named his team "Passionate Bams Fan."

The Rams are not on the list. A team that started the week off it is now in the top three, the Chiefs took a tumble, and Rich has a new No. 1. Here is the Week 8 list in the order Rich delivered it.

**10. Denver Broncos (5-2)**

Back on the list after a big road win in the Pacific time zone. "Their offense looked as good as I've seen it, which isn't that great," Rich said. Still, Denver is four quarters from first place. "All they got to do is hold serve at home against Kansas City. Tall order." The defense is one of the best groups in the league, led by Alex Singleton and his 19 tackles. Rich has a soft spot for Singleton, who showed up at his run on the campus of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, and for the story of a player who found out he had cancer and came back balling out.

**9. Cincinnati Bengals**

"The Bengals are back, guys," Rich said, and he suspects they will be on the list for a long time. Down 13-0 at halftime in Baltimore, they scored 35 unanswered, with Joe Burrow earning Offensive Player of the Week and John Harbaugh left wondering about leadership on his sideline. Rich's advice: add a piece on defense for the stretch run. The crew suggested Budda Baker.

**8. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)**

They were on a bye and Rich did not move them. "I still think the Jaguars are a top-10 team in this league." They got to sit back and watch the Texans lose, falling to 2-5, while the Colts are breaking up. Rich will not call the division a wrap, "cuz it's the NFL. But it feels that way."

**7. New England Patriots (4-3)**

Down two spots after losing on the road in Chicago, but Rich would not drop them for losing to a team playing like this.

**6. Kansas City Chiefs**

Down four. Rich's reasoning is direct: when Kenneth Walker gets taken out of the mix, he thinks the Chiefs lose to the teams ranked above them. "It's that simple."

**5. Minnesota Vikings**

Down one spot, and Rich knows how that sounds. He wants Kyler Murray throwing down the field with success and Justin Jefferson getting the ball. "Check downs to Hockenson, check downs here, check down there. Let's go. Let's chunk play it." Rich said he was voicing what Vikings fans are feeling as they flip out over whether this is a mirage.

**4. Chicago Bears**

Up two spots. "I think the Bears against the Chiefs right now would be a hell of a game," Rich said, with the way Caleb Williams is throwing and the defense is playing.

**3. Seattle Seahawks**

Rich could not recall ever taking a team off the list and putting it straight into his top three. The Seahawks "looked like the old-school Seahawks," he said, and Jackson Smith-Njigba could win Offensive Player of the Year again. With Walker and Smith-Njigba both in that conversation, one scored and went for 150 receiving yards while the other "disappeared. Erased." Add Quenton Nelson, and "they got better."

**2. San Francisco 49ers**

Down one spot, but still ahead of Seattle because they beat the Seahawks. "Can't win them all," Rich said. They haven't won in Atlanta since Mooch and T.O. in the 90s.

**1. Buffalo Bills**

Up two spots on a bye week. "I'm circling the wagons," Rich said, already looking ahead to the Ravens game in Buffalo's new stadium.

The Packers, Ravens and Texans fell off. Rich said he did not even have the Lions in there.

TJ Jefferson had two complaints. A key name was missing, and "you got a 6 and 0 team, they probably should be number one." Rich wasn't having it. He asked TJ who he takes in Vikings versus Seahawks, Niners, Bills or Chiefs right now. "That's not the point, Rich," TJ said. "Yes, it is," Rich shot back. "I'm at the point of a season where I'm throwing records out."

When someone added that the playoffs start today and the Seahawks are not in, Rich pointed back to the drop. "Power rankings. There are many like it, but this one is mine."
