What’s More Likely: Rich Talks Myles Garrett, AJ Brown, Russell Wilson, NBA Finals & More

Chris brought Rich a Friday edition of What's More Likely stacked with the week's biggest storylines, and the first question went straight at the Myles Garrett trade. Is it more likely Garrett gets 30 sacks this year, or Aaron Donald unretires?

"Aaron Donald unretires," Rich said, to some surprise in the room.

Rich explained that his thinking had moved. When Chris first raised the Donald idea within minutes of the Garrett trade becoming official, Rich's instinct was that most players out of the game that long are done and do not want to go back to the grind. But Donald grinds every day on his own, and with each passing day the noise has grown, including Les Snead saying on the show Wednesday that it is real, that Donald is thinking about it, and that the Rams will let him go through his process.

The 30 sacks, meanwhile, run into a depth chart problem. "It's not like it's Myles Garrett and a bunch of slappies," Rich said, naming Braden Fiske, Byron Young and Kobie Turner. Even if the Rams go crazy and get 60 or 70 sacks, the Broncos led the league last year with 68, and Garrett is not getting half. "What's more likely is that Aaron Donald around Thanksgiving will go, 'Huh.'"

Next, Chris noted that last season's Super Bowl teams, Seattle and New England, both missed the playoffs in 2024. More likely, Seattle or New England back in the Super Bowl, or a team that missed the 2025 playoffs making the big game? Rich took the non-playoff field without hesitation, starting with "Mahomes, comma, Patrick," whom he eyeballed at the Big Slick over the weekend. Then came the Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, Lions and Raiders. "The Jets missed the playoffs," he added. "I just wanted to say those words."

On the A.J. Brown trade, the question was which Eagles receiver has more yards and touchdowns, Brown in New England or DeVonta Smith in Philadelphia. Rich went with Brown and Drake Maye. He cited Kurt Warner, who throws around compliments about quarterbacks "like manhole covers," once telling the show that Maye's deep ball was akin to a handoff. As for Philadelphia, Rich has "no idea" what the offense will look like, other than it being "an every other year thing."

Between this week's newly paid receivers, Rich picked Drake London over Christian Watson for the bigger 2026. Watson has put up numbers, Rich said, but he cannot stay healthy, and Rich is excited to see the Falcons offense with Stefanski "dialing it up." He granted that Green Bay has the more decorated, proven quarterback in Jordan Love.

With Russell Wilson officially retiring and headed to CBS, Chris asked who reaches the Hall of Fame first, Wilson or Philip Rivers. Rich said Philip, with all due respect to colleague Stephen A. Smith, who calls Wilson a Hall of Famer. Wilson had a Hall of Fame beginning, Rich said, but his last few years will stick with voters. Neither, the room agreed, goes in on the first ballot, especially if Eli Manning does not.

Then a fun one. Which blockbuster L.A. trade yields more championships, Mookie Betts, or Luka Doncic and Myles Garrett combined? Rich took Mookie, who already has three rings in Los Angeles. He refused to put an asterisk on 2020. "Everybody had to deal with the COVID issues," he said. Asked for an over-under on Luka and Garrett combined, Rich set it at one and a half and took the over.

The toughest call pitted Knicks postseason wins, currently at 13, against the Rams' regular-season win total. Rich wants the Knicks to get to 16, and Chris and Rich's son Cooper have both accused him of being a passionate Rams fan, so taking the Knicks meant conceding there is no 17-0 season coming. He went Knicks anyway, even if they only get 15. Rich predicted every NFL coach will be playing the nobody-believes-in-us card soon, noting Dan Campbell already said "it's already over" when asked about the Garrett trade.

To close, Chris marked the 17th anniversary of The Hangover. Best 2000s theater laugh, The Hangover or Wedding Crashers? Rich remembered laughing and laughing in the theater, then the reveal in the final credits, "one of the greatest buttons to any movie ever." Wedding Crashers is great, he said. He still went Hangover.
