Overreaction Tuesday: Rich Talks Cowboys, Eagles, Ravens, Giannis Antetokounmpo and More

Overreaction Monday landed on a Tuesday this week, thanks to Monday Night Football, and Chris came loaded with takes for Rich and the room to judge.

The first one was a promise Chris made in the YouTube comments: when Dak is clicking, the Cowboys are the team to beat in the NFC East. The room pushed back hard. One voice reminded everyone that the Giants sit at 4-2-1, with a Week 1 win over Dallas already in the back pocket, and that their defense is "balling out better than yours, that's for sure." The ruling was overreaction, delivered with plenty of Michigan and JJ McCarthy trash talk along the way.

Then came the big one. "The Eagle season is toast. It's over. Let the fire sale begin." Rich didn't call that an overreaction. His hesitation was about the reception. A sell-off might fly in Indianapolis, but Philadelphia has "a bit more of a megaphone going down in that town," and Rich wasn't sure that's how the Eagles see it going. Who would they trade? "Depends what the offer is."

Chris followed it up with a trade idea built off the Quenton Nelson deal: the Bengals should go get Jonathan Taylor or Saquon Barkley. Rich liked the thinking but pumped the brakes on Barkley. On the opening drive Monday night, the one he scored on while running 19 miles an hour, Barkley said after the game he tweaked his hamstring on the first carry. His back started hurting too, and he went straight to the sideline bike to work it out. Rich isn't sure he's tradable right now.

Taylor is a different story, but Rich still said no to the fit. Cincinnati doesn't have problems scoring points, and Chase Brown is no slouch. "He had me at hello a couple years ago," Rich said. Better to double down on a defense that has clearly improved. Besides, Adam Schefter told Pat that Colts ownership does not want to trade Taylor, which makes sense for a cornerstone. Though as Rich put it, if someone offers you a number one, you say yes.

Next, a case for the Ravens' top target. Chris wanted to give Zay Flowers his flowers, calling him a top five wide receiver in the NFL. Rich agreed he's playing like it, then asked the obvious question: who are you bumping? Chris dropped Justin Jefferson and Amon-Ra St. Brown and went with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ja'Marr Chase, Flowers, CeeDee Lamb and Puka Nacua. Rich's verdict: "It's not a bad one to argue."

Chris then went to the standings with an eye-test special: at least two teams currently in first place won't make the playoffs. Rich ran through the board. The Bills aren't missing. The Jaguars probably aren't either. The Chiefs aren't missing. In the NFC, the Vikings going from 6-0 to out of the playoffs? "No thanks." Their defense is too good to lose seven more games. The Niners at 6-1? Same answer. Chris admitted maybe he should have said three, which only confirmed it. Overreaction.

The last take went to Miami. Giannis Antetokounmpo trade watch is already on, and the crew described a thousand-yard stare and a player who looks checked out. "This is not what Giannis signed up for," came the line, and in the show's fantasy basketball group chat, the question of who loses more games, the Warriors or the Heat, got a quick answer: "I'll take the Heat right now."

The segment closed with a bold rookie of the year call for a young player who's been balling. The room called that one a bull, not an overreaction, which on Overreaction Tuesday counts as a win.
