O’Shea Jackson Jr. Predicts LeBron James Will Sign with the Cavaliers

Rich Paul says nobody knows anything. O'Shea Jackson Jr. is not buying it.

"People know things, for sure," Jackson said on the show, and he pointed straight at the contradiction. LeBron James has reportedly hinted that anyone paying attention already knows where he wants to go. "But if that's the case," Jackson said, "then just go there."

His read on geography is simple. The Western Conference is a meat grinder right now, and nobody wants to face a Lakers crowd more than once a season. So go east.

Then Jackson floated the outcome that would break the internet. "The funniest thing in the world would be if he just signed with the Lakers. If he was just like, did all of this, waited for us to get our roster real nice, and was like, I'll take the minimum."

He is not entirely joking, either. Jackson ran the reporting back in order. It was disrespectful to ask him to take less, then he was willing to take the minimum. The Lakers shunned him by making him a third option, then a report landed saying he would accept whatever role was needed. "A bunch of that just leads to, well then why won't you just go to the Lakers then?"

Jackson also used the segment to settle a couple of scores, because that is what he does. Richard Jefferson caught a stray for a comment left on the show's page and for wondering aloud what the next five years hold in Los Angeles. "What's going to happen the next 5 years that hasn't already happened in the previous 5 years, bro?" DeMarcus Cousins caught a lighter one for warning Luka Dončić about Laker fans turning on him. "Yeah, I'm going to boo you if you give me something to boo," Jackson said. "This isn't Sacramento."

He also offered his credentials as a fan who has survived worse. "I begged for Andrew Goudelock minutes, man. Kendall Marshall was like the greatest thing ever for like a good couple of months. I was behind Xavier Henry." His point being that a man who rode for Xavier Henry is not jumping ship now that Dončić is in the building.

On the actual prediction, Jackson went to Cleveland, and he has been there for a while. "I've always thought he was going to end up in Cleveland," he said. "That roster, like, they didn't win a game against the Knicks, but it's definitely where his story book should close."

His reasoning is less about basketball than about the calendar. Jackson thinks James is going to 25 seasons, not 24, and that the anniversary machine alone makes it inevitable. "Nike alone is drooling more than what the NBA is. It is just too much money to be made in that." Cleveland is the bookend. "The beginning of the book, end of the book, bam."

As for whether James genuinely has not decided, Jackson had the best analogy of the day. "It's like when you go to a restaurant and you know what you want to order but you're still reading the menu."

His preferred ending is pure chaos, though. Wait until opening night, announce nothing, show up at whichever arena, and pull a Royal Rumble surprise entrance. "You don't even know what robe he's taking off, and what jersey he's going to be wearing."
