What’s More Likely: Rich Talks Burrow, Lamar, AJ Brown, Ohtani, NBA Finals & More

It was Friday, which meant What's More Likely, and Rich worked through a loaded board with O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Chris Brockman pushing back on every answer.

First came AJ Brown, with June 1st looming and his 2026 home up for grabs between the Eagles, the Patriots, and the field. Rich stuck with New England, even as Brockman insisted the field belongs in play given lingering Chiefs and Rams chatter, and even after Adam Schefter reported the teams were not close on a deal. Rich's real hesitation was the price, admitting he did not want to surrender a first-round pick, which set off a tangent about Drake Maye, now nicknamed Cake Maye, who has apparently added muscle and is rumored for the American Century Championship golf field.

On quarterback competitions, Rich did not hesitate. Minnesota is far more interesting than Cleveland, he said, given the bizarre dynamic of first-round pick JJ McCarthy and veteran Kyler Murray describing their relationship like two teachers on opposite sides of a classroom, with a former Coach of the Year in the middle after the team let Sam Darnold walk. Rich only wished the Vikings were on Hard Knocks so everyone could see the seating chart.

For AFC North MVP finalists, Rich tried to sneak in both Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson before being forced to choose. He took Burrow, citing Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and a familiar offense, while acknowledging Lamar has won MVPs with less. On the lingering free-agent receivers, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, and Deebo Samuel, Rich dart-threw Deebo as the first to sign, while predicting all three may wait until August.

The NBA question got the loudest answer. Asked whether the Thunder, Spurs, or Knicks are likeliest to win the Finals, Rich went Knicks with a triumphant bing bong for Jackson. He laid out the case: Brunson, two centers including the floor-stretching Karl-Anthony Towns, the do-everything Josh Hart, a ring-wearing OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, the deepest bench they have had, momentum, and a defense not far off the Thibodeau years. He even joked that Oklahoma City and San Antonio should fear those New York city slickers, fire alarms and all, and entertained a question from his son Cooper's friends about whether Madison Square Garden is the best home-court advantage in sports.

Then came his greatest hits. Rich kept his much-mocked take that Shohei Ohtani should stop pitching, predicting more home runs than runs allowed in his next start, and mused that if Ohtani somehow won a Cy Young instead of a fourth straight MVP, it would prove he should just hit. Finally, asked what comes first, a legit Lakers championship or Den of Thieves 3, Jackson noted the movie is years from finishing and picked the Lakers, dismissing Brockman's pointed use of the word "legit" as something only losers say.
