Wait!!! Did Joe Burrow Just Guarantee the Bengals Will Win the Super Bowl???

Joe Burrow spoke to reporters in Cincinnati. The show flagged the quote because Burrow's monotone delivery often disguises his actual confidence level. This one, played at full volume, sounded like a guarantee.

Asked whether the Bengals are in a better spot now and how much work is still to do, Burrow said this:

"Definitely. I think the number one thing is you have to win, and we're going to go and win a lot of games this year and play great and win a Super Bowl. And everything that comes with that comes with that."

Rich made the room sit with the sentence.

"Like, imagine if it was a wide receiver saying this," he said. "Imagine if it was any other quarterback saying this."

The room agreed. They would have laughed it off. Coming from Burrow, the delivery is so matter-of-fact that the meaning lands harder.

"Mark that," Rich said. "May 20th, 2026. If on Valentine's Day 2027, in the building where he lost the Super Bowl, he hoists Lombardi trophies, you heard it here."

The Bengals' Super Bowl odds, Rich noted, are now identical to the Cowboys'. Rich said the room should at least be open to a Bengals-Cowboys Super Bowl as a real possibility, the way last year nobody on any May broadcast had projected the actual Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl that ended up happening.

The win-loss game arrived in time. A caller named Jordan from Hesperia, California identified himself as the Bengals fan Rich had been hoping for. Rich pulled up the schedule.

Jordan's projections went as follows.

Week 1, home against Tampa Bay. Win. The Bengals defense, in Jordan's read, opens with a statement.

Week 2, at Houston. Loss. Jordan was honest about the road trip.

Week 3, at Pittsburgh. Win. Easy, Jordan said.

Week 4, home for Jacksonville. Win.

Week 5, at Miami. Win.

Week 6, home for the Ravens. Jordan said the new Baltimore starting tackle would have a tough first NFL outing against the Bengals' rebuilt front. Win.

Week 7, home for Tennessee. Win.

Week 8, at Atlanta in Madrid. Jordan said it in Spanish. Win.

Week 9, home for Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football. Loss. Jordan called this the O. Henry twist of the schedule.

Week 10, at Washington Monday Night Football. Win.

Week 11, home for the Saints. Win.

Week 12, at the Browns. Win.

Week 13, home for Kansas City. Loss. Jordan acknowledged the hot streak had to end somewhere.

Week 14, at the Panthers. Win.

Week 15, at the Colts. Win.

Week 16, home for the Ravens on Thursday Night Football, New Year's Eve. Win. Jordan was not breaking on the second Baltimore meeting either.

Week 17, the Browns at Cincinnati. Win. Sweep complete.

Final: 14-3.

"That's a one seed, baby," Jordan said.

Rich let the math land. Then he returned to the larger framing. Burrow saying he is going to win a Super Bowl, paired with a fan looking at the schedule and finding 14 wins in it, is the kind of confidence that does not exist in most NFL May.

"Bengals-Cowboys Super Bowl," Rich said. "One in 12, one in two, who knows the actual odds. But crazier things have happened. Like Patriots-Seahawks last year."

The cast did not push back.
