This Rich Eisen Show Caller Just EXPERTLY Trolled the San Francisco 49ers

Travis called in from Singapore just before 1:00 a.m. his time, a die-hard Rams fan who used to be Travis in Washington state before he moved last year. He stayed up late for one reason: to troll the San Francisco 49ers with a five-movie watch list for their team flights this season.

He delivered it as a countdown, and it was merciless.

Number five, American Underdog. This one, Travis explained, was specifically for Brock Purdy, so he could watch a quarterback from Iowa actually win a Super Bowl.

Number four, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Across the many multiverses, Travis allowed, there might be one where the Niners win the Super Bowl. Probably not, but maybe.

Number three got the room. Be Kind Rewind, the movie where Jack Black breaks into an electrical substation, gets magnetized, and starts erasing VHS tapes. The connection, Travis noted, is that a VHS tape is exactly what you would need to watch a Niners Super Bowl win on. That one had Del Tufo nodding along, the caller speaking his language.

Number two, Friday Night Lights. An underdog team makes it all the way to the championship and does not quite get there. No further comment required.

Number one, Dumb and Dumber. Travis was quick to clarify this was not a shot at anyone in the organization being dumb. It was simply the number one movie in America in 1994, which by his accounting was the last time the 49ers won a Super Bowl. A little remembrance, he offered, available on demand.

Rich was delighted. "I don't know Travis," he said, "but I really like him." He diagnosed the caller perfectly: Travis has a lot of hate in his heart, and Rich loved it. Petty, Rich agreed, at the highest level. Travis had said better in a few minutes what Rich had been trying to tell people for years.

There was only one casualty, and it was Travis himself. Somewhere in the celebration, the line went dead. A Del Tufo fat finger, by the show's own admission, dropped the caller before they could even talk it through. They took him out, fittingly, the way only their own control board could.

A Rams fan, feeling himself all the way from Singapore, with a VHS-tape punchline and a 1994 history lesson. Bravo, Travis.
