Rich’s Revelation about His Wife Suzy Shuster’s Driving WILL Have Repercussions. Bank on It!

Rich opened with a sentence that made the entire room brace: "Speaking of driving, I've got a story."

It was a Suzy story. It was not going to go well for him.

The setup was innocent enough. Rich and Suzy Shuster had been up in Maine visiting Tay and Coop at their camps, and were driving back down I-95 to Boston. Straight shot. No traffic. Roughly two and a half hours.

They had also come up from the Hudson River Valley the day before, a five hour haul, and Rich framed the split with the confidence of a man who does not know he is walking into a trap.

"She did some, I did most. So she did most, I did some on the next day," he said. "Because that's what you do in a solid, healthy relationship."

Here is where it goes sideways.

Not once. Not twice. Not three times. Four separate times, the rental car suggested to Suzy that she might want to pull over and get some caffeine.

She was, Rich reports, wide awake the entire time.

"Every single time it went off, she goes, 'Why? Why?'" he said. "Like she's arguing with the car."

Nobody at the desk could let that go. The car had assessed her driving and concluded she was drowsy. Weaving, possibly. And the car, unlike a husband, has no incentive to be diplomatic about it.

Somebody at the desk framed it perfectly. The vehicle was "providing a real-time referendum on her driving skills."

Rich swears he had noticed nothing. He was not sitting there thinking something was up. But each alert escalated her mood, and each escalation created an opening he could not resist.

"Each time it went off and she got upset, I'm like, you want me to take over?"

That did not help.

Eventually she relented. And that is when Rich claims he watched the car go quiet for the final 40 to 50 minutes of the drive.

"I'm like, suddenly the car is like, what happened to that weaving narcoleptic that was behind the wheel for the last two hours?"

The room, sensing the danger Rich was in, mostly wanted to know one thing. Did he say any of this to her face in the car?

He did not. He also admitted he spent the rest of the drive quietly praying the car would not issue the same warning to him.

"Because I'm like, you know, I drive so well," Rich said. "Car's like, look, wondering, you want an Americano? We can suggest places for you to stop to get it."

The best line of the segment was the one nobody said out loud in the moment, which somebody delivered from the desk afterward: this was the only time you could actually tell her to stay in her lane.

There is a bill coming due, and Rich knows it.

"So it'll be a great segment when Sue's here tomorrow," he said. "In support of women's sports now, everybody. It might not be great for you, but it's going to be awesome for us."

Somebody floated a rename for the segment. Somebody else immediately shut it down.

"I don't want to see you locked out the crib."
