Does Tom Brady Slapping Logan Paul Mean TB12 Is Coming to the WWE???

Tom Brady slapped Logan Paul at Fanatics Fest. The show spent the segment trying to figure out whether that is a bit, a business plan, or the opening beat of a wrestling angle nobody asked for.

The trap got set immediately, and it was aimed at T.J.

"You do realize that if anybody else started doing what Brady's been doing right now, you would be all over them, right, T.J.?" Rich said.

T.J. did not dodge it. Asked what he would be doing if his own all-time favorite started slapping around Logan Paul and showing up like The Undertaker coming out of a crypt, he admitted he would be "unmerciful."

Then came the defense, which is honestly the strongest argument in the room. It happened at Fanatics Fest. Every other great athlete of all time was there. The show has been to that event, and they liked being there.

"It's fun as it gets," T.J. said.

That did not answer the actual question, which Rich kept asking in different forms. Is Brady going to fight Logan Paul at SummerSlam? Is he going to be in the Royal Rumble? What is the end game here?

"I have no idea," T.J. said, and gave the reason it is even a live question. So many of the great athletes of all time have gotten involved. Muhammad Ali at WrestleMania. Football players who became wrestlers. Brock Lesnar.

Brady, for his part, has been building a portfolio. He gave Logan Paul the double birds at the World Cup, which the room ruled wrestling adjacent rather than wrestling.

"He's one Fanatics Fest away from cutting a promo," someone offered, and that got the biggest laugh of the segment.

There was also a lengthy detour into whether it is acceptable to mock Brock Lesnar, which the show concluded it is not, and whether it is acceptable to mock Tom Brady, which the show concluded is currently "bordering on deserving it." Somebody pointed out that Brady was already in training when he threw the Lombardi trophy.

The reporting on the slap itself is muddy. There are conflicting accounts of whether it was staged. T.J. considered that a silly thing to litigate.

"Of course it's not a real slap," he said. "We know that."

That is the entire mechanism, and Rich named it. Brady and Paul do not seem to like each other, which is exactly the point. A lot of people do not like Logan Paul. The goal is to get you saying that out loud, over and over, until you eventually buy the thing they are selling.

The problem is the calendar. SummerSlam is roughly two weeks out, which is probably too soon for a build this thin. And Logan Paul is out anyway with a torn triceps, which prompted the obvious question about whether that was Brady's doing. It was not. He was already hurt.

Royal Rumble lands in January or February, which is post Super Bowl. Brady is not working the Super Bowl this year, since it is on the Disney family of networks. So if this is a build, it is a build with an unusually long runway.

Rich played out the fantasy anyway: Brady's music hits, he comes down the aisle, he chucks a few people over the top rope.

"Anything's possible," T.J. said. "It's pretty fun. I mean, like I said, this is nothing new."
